Including (but not limited to): The book about Glossier, the perfect forever coat, cords I actually die for, the only clean deo that works for me, and some foot stuff.
It’s starting to feel like for me, GAP is going to become J. Crew where 50% of my wardrobe is from staples found there 😁 I have that striped sweater in black. Bought it in a work trip pickle (got asked to stay an extra day in NYC) and am so glad I own it now.
One request: undershirts for sweaters, thin blouses etc. I have some Uniqlo heattech ones and while they were perfect for NYC winters, they’re too much for Atlanta.
Went to look at your Gap sweater...the green is sold out in my size (big) so I will wait...the grey is good but want the green. I do have the striped sweater, which I bought last year as a sub for the Toteme...it is so good!
Hi Hilary. Love this and all your content! You have the best taste even your bedroom items are just freaking awesome. Plus, I love that you buy good things and then use them for a long time! I want to be your friend and get all the tips, but love your columns 🩷
Oh my gosh, this made my day. And yes, I do try to buy things I will wear/have/use for a long time. And I find that vintage has always worked for me because the quality is usually better and the lines have longevity too. Also: Thrifting and vintage has long been how I could afford things, and I also selfishly like having unique things.
I had missed that merino sweater when you first posted it and it’s exactly what I needed to replace in my wardrobe! They’re so good for polished but still comfortable work looks.
Could I request help in finding a "something" (cardigan, wrap, bolero) to wear on my wedding. My dress is a strapless a-line, but I run COLD and would love something to potentially wear so as to avoid being blue-tinged on my wedding day. Ideally under $200, if possible! Many thanks!!
Oooh let me think. So the hard part is getting the colors right. I opted out by having a leather jacket on hand, which I had an artistic friend hand paint for the wedding.
Thank you!! I should maybe say, the dress is a sort of pale blush tulle with ivory applique flowers on the bodice. A leather jacket sounds cool, but probably too rockstar for me;-)
Can I request a (not saffiano..!) leather tote bag for work, please, Hillary?
I’ve been looking for WEEKS and none quite hit the spot... it needs to be stylish, practical and be able to carry my laptop? The ones I find are too square, or saffiano (I dont know why but I HATE it), or just not nice!
I have a Mansur black (red interior) tote that's vegetable tanned (not saffiano) that I've used for probably close to 10 years? I have an amazing super soft Cuyana leather laptop case (that looks more like a clutch) that I use inside.
Adding the foot cream to my Amazon cart ASAP. In other news, I sat on the Gap sweater in green until Sunday afternoon and it was gone. 😹 I rechecked yesterday and they had restocked. Day. Made.
I've been seeking a good travel outfit. I want something stylish but super comfortable for those 5-15 hour flights (jeans are not it). Do you have any recommendations?
Love this, so glad I know what you write about now! Any recommendations for a short trench? They seem to be all the fuss...or will be. They're also a classic so happy to invest in a good one. Love the ALC coat by the way.
Can’t wait for the Loafer newsletter. Just bought some from J.Crew, but need more for the “running around Chicago/New York” Fall season.

Having loved Maggie Bullock’s J.Crew book, I’m eager to dig into Glossy - cannot wait to report back!
Same!
Let’s confer post-read Terena!
Like Judith, I too want to be your friend!

I love your sensibilities! Your book and food recommendations also! I’m in LA and will happily continue to explore your selections
I love a new clean deo rec!! Ordered!
Thank you so much!

Massimo dutti do sweet little cream jackets that could be perfect x
I'll check them out!

Thank you!!! Appreciate the time you take to give us your latest and greatest. Gotta check out those Jimmy Choos!
A "loafer" that actually works on my high instep!

Yesssssss!!!!!! It's a good one. Truly worth the sleuthing!
I didn’t realize I needed the foot repair cream!!!
It's pretty great. Not the sexiest, but great.

How is the sizing on the Gap sweater? I’m sold on it but reviews say it runs big. Would love some insight!
