You know how something in your house may bother you a little- a fraying rug, a chipped door frame, a cracked storage bin- and then BOOM one day that broken item becomes all-consuming and even though you SHOULD be getting ready for your MIL’s 75th birthday dinner, you cannot stop searching the Internet for a replacement? That was me yesterday looking for new sheets to replace my poorly fitting and constantly wrinkled sets. But I couldn’t make a decision for the life of me. And then your substack appears like a light in the dark. Just ordered two sets of the Lands End sheets. Thank you!

Thanks for this! The sales are so overwhelming. It’s nice to have some direction/call outs. I adore the wool trousers Hillary is sharing but high rise never works on my body (it comes to my bra, usually) - has anyone found similar with a mid/low rise? Thanks. Also if anyone is on a linen sheet search I have to mention Linoto - totally different feel than Parachute (Linoto is thicker/heavier) but must admit I’ve been going for the Lands End sheets more lately (and I hate even a hint of sateen but these are great).

Also I haven't worn but I've heard good things about these wool blend mid-rise trousers: https://bit.ly/4boEGwF And the price is good.

This is probably an odd ask, but do you have a favorite luggage recommendation? There’s a lot of sales this weekend but not sure where to start. Looking for something to check (it’s for a two week trip) - I haven’t traveled since pre-pandemic and am so overwhelmed with options!

TL; DR My standard suitcase is a Briggs & Riley Baseline Essential 22-Inch Expandable 2-Wheel Carry-On Bag in a dark green that is no longer available, as you’d expect from a bag that’s old enough to have a driver’s permit. I got it because my dad was a commercial airline pilot for 30+ years, and that’s the bag that he recommended.

If you don’t hear back from HK in time, the New York Times wirecutter recently put out a list of top luggage options organized by checked and carry-on.

I am a big fan of Costco’s Kirkland brand sheets. Comes with 4 pillow cases in the sheet set. Cooling sateen feel but not overly sheen-y. They’ve held up for biweekly washes for over 2 years now. And the price can’t be beat.

Do you have a duvet cover you recommend to go with your favorite duvet insert that won’t shrink it down?

I have gone to buy the Lands End sheet but can't decide on a color - wish there were some chicer options? Do you just do ivory or white?

The Olympia le tan clutches are pure fantasy. Wish I had a bookshelf full of her book cover versions 😍

Thank you for the A. Emery tip! I recently discovered this brand and am in love with their sandals too. Managed to snag a pair of the Margaux style at the reduced price (saw the prices went back up already!)

I need a new everyday bag and am so stuck! Recently returned from Europe where I promised myself I'd buy a new one but, honestly, the designer ones left me a little cold😢. Don't like huge logos, already have a raffia one ... needs to hold a fair amount of stuff but not be too big/tote like ... any advice?

Hi Hillary, I’m looking for the perfect crisp white shirt to wear with an array of colourful skirts at work. It has to be smart and not have too much extra fabric so that it doesn’t bulk under the skirts (one in particular is a very fitted metallic grey shantung silk pencil skirt with giant yellow polka dots). Please help!
