Native Hawaiian people for several years have continued to ask people to stop coming to the islands bc they’re running out of resources and are getting priced out of their homes. I think a responsible tourist advisor would be knowledgeable about this and respectful of this culture’s requests. Just the same as she says not to go to Italy and France in the summer, she should be counseling her clients to respect native Hawaiians and avoid the islands for now.
If you want to protect native resources, that is 100% valid, but talk to your local government about establishing protections for property ownership, tourism, etc. Don’t shame someone who is doing her job or travelers who want to (respectfully) experience a beautiful destination.
