Hillary is that your bedroom?? IT IS LUSH! I love it!
Adding it to my Pinterest immediately!
Can I ask - I feel like Instagram/the internet is just awash with neutrals, browns, boring shit at the moment and it’s just so not me! Hated the 90s the first time, shan’t be partaking this time. How do you ignore the noise and not let it seep into your aesthetic?
Hate neutrals, hate athleisure and I hate to be rude but I just feel like everyone looks the same?! Am I alone in this?!
I love this newsletter as it feels totally individual and like you! (I hope that’s not too creepy to say but you know what I mean?!)
It sure is my bedroom! As for the beige-ification of interiors...all I know is that it doesn't make my heart sing, and I think knowing that is the most important thing. (My last single-girl apartment had a peacock blue velvet couch and grass green chairs so clearly neutrals aren't my personal love language.) It is weird when it seems like everyone is doing the same thing, but at the end of the day, you just have to be happy with your space, even if that means a different vibe IMHO.
Ah sorry that was my poorly worded comment - I meant of style, but actually, it definitely transfers to interiors too and I think your reply also transfers to style, too?! Peacock blue!! 💝💝💝
Ahahahahahahhahaha whoops! Reading too fast on my side. I will be totally honest: browns and beige don't look great on me, so I tend to avoid. I do wear a ton of black/gray, but I will always like a print + colorful accessory and color can really make me feel like my whole self, you know?
For sure! Completely agree about me, too! I just find it so interesting how I think people dress so similarly nowadays! Like I recently went out and 4 out of 6 girls had the same outfit on, just with slightly different accessories! Or identical accessories, too…!
I'm glad you're finding the latter. I know I write in a way that's pretty similar to how I speak, but I never know if my dad jokes translate to the written word?
Love this list! I just snagged a pair of Stuart Weitzman combat boots for 60% off on their site after Net a Porter was sold out in my size so also check to see if the brands themselves are doing any sales!
I wanted to love the jcrew pull on sweater pants but the sizing was off for me (small was slightly too tight, medium was baggy). If you have suggestions for straight leg but not relaxed/baggy athleisure pants I'd love to hear them. Lululemon messed with the rise/fit of the dance studio pant and I can't seem to find a dupe.
Grace Atwood mentioned Savette as a good option for a quality non branded classic leather bag. Have you encountered them before? Curious for firsthand feedback before I buy.
Savette is incredible; the designer used to work at The Row + Khaite before starting her own line, two brands that are a) great and b) do accessories + bags really really well. Let me think about the athleisure pant!
Do you have a recommendation for eye cream for someone over 40 with sensitive eyes? I know you’ve written about having sensitive peepers before, so i feel like you might be a good resource for this!
Hi Hillary! Just wanted to say that I bought your budget pick for towels from Target (because our current daycare costs more than our mortgage right now) and they are FANTASTIC. My husband and I had never used bath sheets before and wow, what an upgrade! They are so soft, I feel good about staying within budget (for once in my life, lol) and love experiencing a little bit of luxury in a time of life that feels anything but, with a 1 and 3 year old at home (insert face melting emoji here). I waited until your review came out to replace our towels and could not be happier. Thank you thank you thank you. <3
Since you are taking requests, I would love alternatives to the Khaite jacket (which I loooove but cannot justify in my budget). There are so many out there but they all seem a bit more bomber-y. And if you come back with “nothing is as good as the Khaite,” well, I’d believe you. And maybe cry. ;)
Hi! Just dropping a note to say I love your newsletter and read it every week. Going to buy a bunch of these things now 😀
Awww thank you!!! This made my morning.
Hi! I bought that J Crew suit last year on your recommendation and it has been a winner on the preschool swimming birthday party circuit. Thank you!
Oh I'm so glad to hear that! Finding a kid-party appropriate suit that doesn't feel boring is weirdly challenging.

Hi! So I really love Shani Darden's eye cream, which is light but efficacious and never irritates my eyes!
Love these newsletters they’re my favorite. You take all the work out investigating and shopping. You’re so delightful…. and helpful!
I bought the Matouks per your towel review post and they are heavenly! Shower game changed.

I recently discovered Tariro Makoni too and she is an instant favorite!! Obsessed.
