I look forward to reading your posts every Sunday!!! So friendly, approachable and still fashion!! I love that you don’t gate keep things and celebrate the people/brands you love. It’s a slice of joy!!!
Hillary I LOVED THIS and I have so many questions if that’s ok!
Firstly, can I ask how you got the cadence parcel past security? Isn’t that too big to be classed as the a carry on see-through back to get through security with liquids?
Secondly, is it only the posh hotels that have the roll rack and the steamer in your room?
Thirdly, how did you mail that back to yourself? Did you literally go to post office, buy the box, Put them in the box and just mail them back? sorry if that’s a silly question but I’m obsessed with logistics and these hacks!
Sorry, one last one - if you didn’t keep the NAP stuff you had same day delivered, how did you return them to NAP, please? Did you physically have to go a post office?
Thank you! I Travel a lot for Work and I’m absolutely fascinated by these genius hacks!
Hi! Okay so 1) the Cadence parcel is 1 qt, so has been fine for me. I'm pre-check, and no one has ever stopped me, even in LHR which is fussy. 2) The Bowery Hotel actually offered it once, as they get a lot of NYFW/stylist guest, and since then I've kept the request going. Never hurts to ask! Most places have steamers, for sure. 3) Usually the hotel has an extra FedEx slip or I will travel with one for this purpose! I will leave it at the front desk, as they have FedEx pickup. I usually have a box on hand, or the hotel will. Worse case there's a packing store close by. For NAP, they do same-day delivery in New York and then all you have to do is package up the bag it came in, do the online submission on site, and then I leave it at the front desk and NAP picks it up usually in 12 hours or less!
Thank you! So helpful! I’m British, but live in Canada and 3 and 4 are blowing my mind 😂 what a time to be alive! I love it! Thank you for your comprehensive replies 💖
OFC. To be fair, The Bowery Hotel is extremely cool, gracious, and helpful, and make all of this possible. The hospitality is unmatched, hence my unwavering loyalty over the last 15+ years.
It's an extraordinary place. I went into labor unexpectedly with my oldest while staying there, but didn't know, so I went to the hospital to check what was going on and was not allowed to leave. When I called The Bowery to let them know, they packed up my room, sent my suitcase to the hospital, sent me flowers, and then sent my kiddo his own Bo The Bowery Bear stuffy and a mini Bowery robe when we finally got back to LA many weeks later. They went so far above and beyond, I still get emo thinking about it.
My husband and I always joke that spring (we're in the midwest) is all about figuring out whether it's going to be 60 in an 80s way or 60 in a 40s way, so I relate to this packing/dressing struggle so much!
Ahahahahahahaaha I think I used to be more involved like that! It was slightly cured by my last apartment in New York, which was a fifth-floor walk-up. Dragging my overpacked suitcase up all those stairs was a drag.
Hillary I can't even begin to explain how much I love these - they are truly such a delight when they come through! Sorry to Wilder because I love when you travel :/ Ok so I leave for London with my three boys in tow for their first ever trip to Europe. Of the pieces in your travel uniform what is the absolute MUST HAVE - because I have loads of things that are quasi what you are saying but wondering if I need the exact items...Thanks so much!
I'm glad to be of service! I would say of the travel uniform, if you're looking for versatility, the Nili Lotan Shon pants are tops; I love the comfort of my J. Crew pants, but I don't wear them quite as much IRL.
Feels extra special to get another packing recap so close after London! I'm flying with my husband, babysitter and three children to Europe. If you had to pick one piece of your routine travel outfit as the must have - which one would you pick???
I swear I wrote back to this but now can't find. Anyway! The Nili Lotan pants are the most versatile, I think? But not as comfy for a long-haul as the JCrew. Actually maybe the loafers because they don't require break-in time and are so soft?
OK I ordered the Jamie Haller leopard loafers! They were 30% off on Shopbop so I took that as a sign and snagged them! Do they run a bit small? That's what the fit feedback on Shopbop said so I ordered half size up. Fingers crossed they fit!
It is a process! I make shopping mistakes all the time too...for example, I have loads of black-tie dresses for a life that doesn't really call for them!
Hotel steamer is amazing! Do you call ahead to ensure they have one available? I typically bring mine but it’s bulky and I’d like to bring other things in my carryon instead.
You were stunning so it works! I always find that my toiletries/makeup/hair - which each have their own bag - take up the most space. Also I always bring sneakers too which I try to wear on the plane but that means an extra shoe in the bag.

Well this just made my day!!! Truly cannot express how much this means to me. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I think we need to see How you pack the bag. lol.
Ha okay! I have another work trip this week so will try!

I love it - I need to stay there! That is impressive hospitality!

Ok wow, this is amazing
Three words - oh em gee!!!
I was also in NYC for work last week and the weather was WILD!
Thank you for confirming my experience!!!

It's the wildest thing!
those Armani heels look killer on you.
Thank you! Honestly they're not my style normally (I never wear a t-strap), but I'm obsessed! In no small part because they're so comfy!
How did you like the fit of the Zimmerman set? I’ve been eyeing it in chocolate and cream!
LOVED. The 1 and the 2 fit really nicely and I'm in love with the material. It feels so luxurious and expensive.
I remember traveling in my 20s and friends would bring a dedicated suitcase just for shoes. Could not fathom. Carry-on queens.
Ahahahahahahaaha I think I used to be more involved like that! It was slightly cured by my last apartment in New York, which was a fifth-floor walk-up. Dragging my overpacked suitcase up all those stairs was a drag.
My proudest carry-on moment was a week of skiing and spree in Aspen where I also fit ski boots into my carry-on. Still not sure how I did it.

I just wish you could come over and edit my closet. Every piece you have seems so deliberate and well thought through!

Yes!! I call a day or so ahead of time and confirm. Or email!

See I rarely workout whilst traveling so that's how I skip the sneakers. That said, my loafers can do some steps!!! A pleasure seeing you babe!!!
Thank you for this! Where’s the leather maxi dress from?
Skirt is Ulla Johnson from last fall.
