Brilliant! As usual. Asking for a friend: when you test leggings can you talk about the roll-down issue? Mine never don’t do this and if it’s to do with my body shape—fine, I can handle the truth. If my pants are too small, tell me! The Lululemon saleslady said it was because they needed to be smaller…and then sold me $300 worth of leggings that, after a few months of stay-in-place bliss, now roll down. Are everyone’s leggings constantly rolling down/sagging, and they’re just putting up with it? or is it just me, wearing the wrong stuff? This is a serious need-to-know, Hillary!!

Vuori leggings (the ones with a wide band and drawstring) are the only ones I've found that don't roll down. I'm sure Hillary has some stellar recommendations, but I wanted to share mine and hope they help!

Maggie this is actually horrible! Question: are you wearing high waisted styles? Also I have an Amazon dupe that has never once rolled on me and it's like $20.

Just throwing out more suggestions, Sweaty Betty, Reformation, and Alo always are dependable and haven't rolled down yet. Amazon does have some really good dupes, echoing Hillary. No issues yet and the ones I have, have pockets which has not gotten old, at least for me.

Excited to start that book and not put it down until it's done. 🙃 I could not put down The Last Thing He Told Me either.

I fully agree with you on the constant and exhausting hypocrisy of constant self improvement and self acceptance. Maybe acceptance is the improvement?

I have been slowly joining the contouring trend, though I like a more natural and laid back approach so this tutorial is much appreciated along with the make-up references. Always open to learning and trying new beauty and make-up recs.

Very much in an olive green vibe, make-up too, so these items are so tempting. Especially those Dior slingbacks. It is definitely a nuetral. 💛

Love this list, thanks for putting it together! What a treat. Welcome back and Happy New Year!

I never thought I was a suspense/mystery girly, but between The Last Thing and this new book and The Paris Apartment and a handful of other I discovered last year...I guess I am! Gone Girl was the inception, I suppose? Anyway, I'm in a mild depression I'll Be You is over, so curious if you like it as much as I did!

Just a quick update to thank you for recommending I'll Be You. It was wild and I loved it. I too appreciated the twists and turns in a less violent and suspenseful way that most of my book picks have led me down recently. Not to say that it was not dark, just in a different way. Definitely would make a great limited series. Thanks again! 😊

Adding to recommend The Lies I Tell by Julie Clark. Along the same veins of a mystery with two female characters and the choices they make, reminded me of the same vibe-ish of I'll Be You. Though cons instead of cults. Frenemies instead of twins. It was such a fun read.

There have been some really good mystery/suspense/thrillers lately! Maybe Gone Girl was the inception though I do remember reading John Grisham and James Patterson when I was younger, it has been a while. I have been reading one after the other as well recently, must be the weather. I am sure I'll love I'll Be You as much as you did. I'll keep you posted. 😊

I completely relate to the sadness of finishing a good book. I just had that after finishing A Flicker in the Dark and saw that Emma Stone and her husband are producing it as a mini series, though no casting yet. She would be perfect. Excited for the Last Thing He Told Me as a mini series, the casting looks spot on. Googling a book after I am done is my coping mechanism to it being over. I also really enjoyed a book called Three Assassins and was surprised how much I did. It is by the same Japanese author that wrote Bullet Train, though I have yet to read that one.

I also loved the Paris Apartment and it's funny you mention it, because I just finished another Lucy Foley book, The Guest List, and loved it, dare I say, more. Looking forward to reading her other one, The Hunting Party along with this other book I saw getting recommended, Intimacies. After I'll Be You of course. 💛

Welcome back! I wanted to share my channa saag recipe (it's a weekly item for us and even the kids will eat it - I add the jalapeno in after taking out their portions), which we pair with mini naan or RightRice. Easy, flavorful, and so so good! https://www.hithaonthego.com/vegan-channa-saag/

Oh my gosh I'm so thrilled thank you for sharing. I love channa saag and thank you for the jalapeño tip. I keep making kids meals and adult meals and honestly 2x dinners nightly is insane and exhausting.

Re: workout leggings. Can you look for a pair that are midrise? I’m not sure if it is my body type but high rise just don’t work for me. I’m constantly pulling them up or down and just feel so restricted. Lululemon’s are all high rise now. The only brand I’ve found lately are Nike. Would love some help on this!

Yes this please look into midrise. They are so difficult to find but as I have no waist to speak of I can't really make high rise leggings work.

Excited about the Mary Phillips tutorial (like everyone else on the internet!). Wonder if you used the RCMA highlight or a substitute. Wasn’t clear from the tutorial which one Mary was using.

Looking forward to the legging reviews. Any chance of one for classic white button-down shirts? I find it SO hard to tell from online photos a CWBD is see-through enough that it's going to require a tank top underneath

Welcome back! Love getting these newsletters. 100% with you on the olive green, and never thought about how it works with literally every other neutral. So good.

Would love your take on non workout leggings... I’m seeing so many and thinking something that can be worn with boots, ballet flats... maybe a flare or stirrup??

Bring forth the dupe! Mine are at the waist, maybe not *above* the waist?

Welcome back! I was excited to see your newsletter in my inbox this morning!

I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect white button down. Something that is a little oversized and will pair well with jeans, trousers, etc. I’d love your recommendations!

Love all of these recommendations. I have been on the hunt for a classic cocktail dress that can be worn over and over with different accessories. I feel like everything is either super trendy or super dowdy.

Broccoli tots/fritters are a hit with my kids: microwave or steam the broccoli, put it in the food processor with cheddar, 1-2 eggs depending on how much broccoli, a few bread or panko crumbs, and salt and pepper. Form into patties or tots and either fry in a pan or bake in the oven at 400. Great with ketchup. I often do this with leftover broccoli that’s been steamed. :-)
