I keep looking at the pleated skirt every time you post about it. But I barely wear the skirts I have!

I often feel this way about pants! Sometimes it just takes the right one, like the Nili Lotan pants I wrote about last week.

My life is so casual that wearing something other than leggings and sweatpants is fancy. Ha!

You've sold me on the J.Crew lace trimmed skirt and I grabbed some of the remaining

Maryam Nassir Zadeh pieces after seeing them on Becky Malinsky a few weeks ago. Thanks for rec!

Happy Birthday Hillary !

A new version of things I wish I’d known ?! Exciting. I always find myself filling my notes app with that very end of episode Second Life advice.

Also, I like the idea of a J.Crew jacket to add a more casual look to formal pieces.

Just ordered the gap jean jacket! Thanks!! Speaking of bedding…Does anyone have a recommendation for a company that makes king sized Duvets that actually hang over the bed equally on both sides? We have a king but I always end up pulling one side down further….the side people can see…haha! Thanks in advance

Was just coming here to say how good that Gap jean jacket looks! Was just out horseback riding, and the (very cool) wrangler was wearing a longer length jean jacket over bootcut jeans (gotta make room for the cowboy boots), and it looked so good. No advice on the duvet, unfortunately. I have that problem, too!

Oh this is a good question! I tuck our duvet into the bed frame so I haven't pondered! Only thought that comes to mind is going Scadi style and doing two duvets for a king?

We have 2 twin duvets for our king bed and it’s fantastic. So much easier to manage.

As someone who sleeps with a duvet thief, I feel like this is in my future.

Can I bug you about sizing for the J Crew mens' jacket? I *almost* pulled the trigger when Meg recommended it but I think I'm definitely going to now!

What size did you get in the J Crew jacket Hillary? Love love love all that you do for us out on the fashion front lines! X

Hi do you happen to know what size you take in the j Crew snake kitten heels? They are my most wanted heel and on final sale rn. For example in the Millie swiss dot slingback you featured last year I’m 7.5. I always come to your substack to figure out my J.crew sizes:-) thank you!

I would lean into industrial chic (OSHA chic?) for something that has to be super reliable! Maybe I’ll buy one of those rolling library step stools, hah. For shorter heights I have this one: https://kikkerland.com/products/rhino-ii-step-stool-red. It’s brightly colored, extremely sturdy, folds up easily and kids can fetch it themselves. I wouldn’t get something with narrow or smooth steps - in my opinion a step stool has to feel really stable and grippy because I want almost everyone who visits (young, older, heavy, light) to be confident and comfortable using it. For the same reason I think it should also be rated higher than 225 pounds (the lucano’s weight limit) even though that’s pretty good because many people weigh more than that. Your kitchen stepladder looks trustworthy.

I bought 2 of the Gap merino sweaters last year at your recommendation…but got the cardigans (black and dark green). They are great! I may get the crew neck now. Thanks!
