13 Of My Favorite Things Are Truly, No Joke, On Sale Right Now.
I watch the prices on these pieces and these are legitimate, rare price reductions. Not that flimflam fake "sale" nonsense that the oligarchs like to do. Ahem.
Hi everyone! How are you feeling? I hope you all had restful, peaceful Thanksgivings, that you didn’t revert into a petulant teen the second you saw your family, and that Mercury didn’t retrograde too much on your travel plans. Also, is it just me, or was this the longest BF/CM ever? So I’m happy to say that, per your request, celebrity makeup artist Joey Maalouf will be back in December to talk eye makeup and lip tips—yes, we’re doing part two of my most read story, ever—but today, as I type this with a lingering salt hangover, it’s time for one last gasp of sale content.
As always, I try to be as strategic as possible about what I shop at this time of year. I have a running list of gifts for my nearest and dearest, and search for those items specifically, rather than just browsing the sales aimlessly. (It’s the equivalent of going grocery shopping when you’ve just eaten lunch and have a shopping list, versus hitting up the market with an empty stomach and no plan.) I also do some seasonal fashion shopping for myself, as boots, coats, and both cocktail and black-tie dresses are always on sale right now.
I also have been following the sale offerings from some of my favorite brands, and plan on stocking up on the products I’ve tried, tested, and loved this year. One of the most exciting? Dr. Diamond’s Metacine is having a once-a-year 20%-off sale on their products. I’ve written about how I love the brand’s Instafacial Plasma Bioactive Growth Factor Serum ($160 right now, normally $200) and Instafacial Emulsion Retinopro Growth Factor Night Cream ($280 right now, normally $350). To be perfectly honest, I didn’t want to fall in love with these two products, because they’re expensive, but I’m sorry, they’re really good. My skin is happier than it’s been in a while, and I think it’s due to nearly three months of very consistent use
My YCOHO (you can only have one) swim brand, Left On Friday, is doing a rare 30%-off sale right now. The Sunday Top ($66.50 now, normally $95) is the chicest, most comfortable bathing suit top I’ve ever worn, and it’s supportive. I have a medium in Black and Palm Green, and I’m going to add to the mix with First Place Blue. Same is true with the Hi Tide Bottoms ($66.50 now, normally $95), which I also wear in a medium. Side note: I use my Hi Tide Bottoms in black under my super sheer Doen lace skirt for coverage and 11/10 recommend this double usage.
There are over 46,000 designer items on major sale at MyTheresa right now, which is a little mind blowing. As always, I am a weirdo who will buy a black-tie gown on sale if I fall in love, because you can never find one when you’re actually looking for it. I own a handful of Roksanda pieces, and have been really impressed with their fit and quality, so I’ve got this chocolate brown and chartreuse one-shoulder gown in my cart. Also, there are a handful of Markarian gowns on sale, which is interesting, and a classic little black corseted dress from Vivienne Westwood.
Other highlights: My beloved Khaite Ross Jacket ($686 now, normally $980) is 30% off. There are over 1400 pairs of boots on sale right now, including excellent timeless options from Paris Texas, Valentino, and these fab leopard suede ankle boots from Isabel Marant. Also, while mostly on final reduction, there are over 750 coats on sale too, with chic options from Max Mara galore (the wool and cashmere styles are truly forever pieces),
Also worth your time/worth a reminder:
Negative Underwear, makers of my favorite undies and sleep/layering/going out shirts, is having a 15%-off site-wide sale right now. The long-sleeve shirt will forever be that girl; I have a medium and it’s perfect and never rides up.
J.Crew is going cashmere crazy right now, with a 40%-off sale. I have yet to be disappointed by any cashmere items I’ve purchased from them. I also love an oversized men’s cashmere crewneck, so don’t ignore that side of the store when you’re shopping. Also: You can monogram their pieces for the perfect holiday presents.
Reformation is really going for it now too. The entire site is 25% off right now, and if I were me, I’d use this excuse to buy another color of the excellent Bella Maxi Skirt ($163.50 now, normally $218). Oh wait, I am and I did. I own the black silk one and the white with black polka dots, both in a small, and might have purchased the velvet one too? (The Layla midi skirt is also really excellent, and comes in extended sizes.) Also worth noting? The Olina Knit Pants ($96 now, normally $128) which is the most popular link I have ever posted in the history of this newsletter, are on sale too.
Petite Plume’s beyond adorable pajamas are 25% off right now, as is the whole site! My tip: I buy my kids’ pajamas a year or two ahead of their current age, as they then get twice as much wear out of them.
Cuyana is another brand I absolutely adore and stock up on whenever they’re having a sale. Right now they’re doing up to 30% off on a number of classic pieces, like their Tech Carryall ($158 now, normally $198)—which is the best laptop sleeve in the world; I love mine and get questions about it anytime someone sees it—and Medium Travel Case ($78 now, normally $98). Their leather is unmatched for the quality and price point, and the founders are incredible too. It’s a great brand to support, and truly one of my favorites.
